Three printed handwritten thank-you notes on a wooden desk

A short handwritten note still stands out in a world of email. Real estate agents, small shop owners and freelancers use them to thank clients, follow up after a meeting or welcome a new customer. The hard part is time: writing ten notes by hand takes an afternoon. With Handtext you type the message once and get a page that looks written by hand, ready to print.

Start with the message

Keep it short and personal. Two or three short paragraphs read naturally in handwriting; long blocks of text look printed no matter which font you pick.

  • Open with the person’s name: “Dear Sarah,”.
  • Mention one specific detail — the home you viewed together, the order they placed, the project you finished.
  • Close with a simple sign-off and your first name.

Pick a handwriting style that fits the tone

Flowing scripts such as Dancing Script, Sacramento or Homemade Apple feel formal and elegant, which suits thank-you cards. Print-style hands such as Patrick Hand, Indie Flower or Caveat feel friendly and casual — a good match for a note tucked into a package.

Tip: Sending notes to several people? Give each one a different font so the stack does not look copy-pasted.

Make it look genuinely handwritten

Real handwriting is never perfectly even. Use the Handwriting realism slider in the editor: “Natural” adds a light wobble, while “Realistic” and “Lifelike” vary each letter’s size, slant and ink so no two letters look the same. Blank paper works best for cards; keep the margins generous so the note breathes.

Print it

  1. Click Generate and check the live preview.
  2. Download a PDF for printing, or a JPG/PNG if you want to drop the note into a design tool first.
  3. Print on heavier card stock and trim to size for a card that feels real in the hand.

Each note takes a minute or two instead of ten, and the recipient still gets something that feels personal.
